Who exactly is Kuldeep Sen?
This Madhya Pradesh native, 25, is from Rewa. Kuldeep was born on October 22, 1996, and plays in the Madhya Pradesh league. The RR speedster made his first-class debut against Tamil Nadu in November 2018. In 16 first-class matches, he has 44 wickets at an average of 30.50. He’s also played five List A games, collecting four wickets with a 6.46 economy rate. In 19 T20s, he has 13 wickets at an economy rate of 8.23. While he bowled four wickets in five matches at an economy of 7.75 in the 2021-22 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season, it appears that his ability to throw wide yorkers impressed RR.

Despite a late scare from Marcus Stoinis, Rajasthan Royals managed to defend 165 against Lucknow Super Giants, due to an amazing last over from Kuldeep Sen in his IPL debut. Stoinis was hoping to take the game away from Rajasthan with some tremendous hitting in the last few overs, and the kid Sen was under enormous pressure to deliver in his very first game.
Sen replaced Navdeep Saini in the playing XI, and skipper Sanju Samson had all of his top fast bowlers out before the 20th over. Samson’s choice to back the youngster paid off, as Sen maintained his cool and won the game by three runs. Sen will only get better from here, with Lasith Malinga as the Royals’ bowling coach, and his ability to routinely clock velocities beyond 140 km will be an added benefit.
Despite his son’s sudden success, the father’s routine remained unchanged. Ram Pal cycled six kilometers from Hariharpur village to Rewa, as he does every day, to get to the barbershop. Kuldeep gave up just a single in the first ball of the final over on Sunday night. He kept his cool to bowl three dot balls to the big-hitting Australian Marcus Stoinis. Kuldeep, one of five children, couldn’t purchase a basic cricket kit due to his family’s low budget. “All credit goes to Anthony, our coach. “He took care of everything, including Kuldeep’s training equipment, spikes, and diet,” Ram Pal explained.
Anthony does as Australia great Dennis Lillee advised him while he was a fledgling pacer at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai. “Lillee once observed, ‘a talent should not be squandered for non-cricketing reasons.’ “I waived Kuldeep’s costs,” Antony explained.
Kuldeep Sen of Madhya Pradesh made his debut for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 match against the Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The fast bowler from Rewa, about 450 kilometers from the state capital of Bhopal near the Uttar Pradesh border, wowed everyone with his quick bowling. In his second over, he dismissed Deepak Hooda for 25 runs.
Later, the 25-year-old bowler successfully protected 15 off the final over to help his team win a close game. He only gave up 11 points in the final six balls to end with numbers of 1 for 35.

The first ball of the last over was hit for a single by Avesh Khan. Sen bowled two rapid full deliveries that were in the slot for Stoinis to capitalize on, but he was undone by the pace of the 25-year-old. Stoinis sorely needed a boundary with 14 needed off three deliveries, but he missed another full ball outside off as Sen completed the deal for the Royals. The sprinter finished with 1 for 35.
For the record, RR management paid Rs 20 lakh for the right-arm fast bowler during the IPL 2022 mega auction.
He made his T20 debut against Mumbai in 2019 and has previously played for the Madhya Pradesh state cricket team.
According to preliminary reports, his father, Rampal Sen, owns a modest salon in the city.
