Indian opener’s highest score in WT20 Internationals

Smriti Mandhana

Smriti Shriniwas Mandhana, an Indian cricketer who was born on July 18, 1996, has signed with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the WPL and competes for the Indian women’s national side.

She participates in domestic cricket for the Maharashtra cricket team.

She received “the Best Women’s International Cricketer” honor from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in June 2018.

Smriti Mandhana scored 86 runs.

In December 2018, the International Cricket Council presented her with the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Award for the best female cricketer of the year (ICC). On December 30, 2021, she received a nomination for the ICC Women’s T20 Player of the Year award. She was among the four finalists for the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year award in December 2021 together with Tammy Beaumont, Lizelle Lee, and Gaby Lewis. She received the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Award for the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year in January 2022 from the International Cricket Council. Against New Zealand, Smriti Mandhana scored the game’s highest total when India visited the island nation in 2019. Although Sophie Devine’s masterful performance helped the White Ferns win the third T20I match, India’s Smriti Mandhana had the highest knock with 86 runs in 62 balls, including 12 boundaries and one maximum.

Mandhana is included on the list once more after she outscored Ireland in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 by one point. The daring batter scored 87 runs in 56 balls, helping the team score 155 runs. India ultimately prevailed in the competition thanks to the DLS approach.

Mandhana enjoys playing cricket, and her family is very proud of her. Domestic career

She made history in October 2013 when she became the first Indian woman to score two hundred in a single game. At the Alembic Cricket Stadium in Vadodara during the West Zone Under-19 Tournament, she struck an unbeaten 224 off 150 balls while competing for Maharashtra versus Gujarat.

Mandhana scored three half-centuries in as many games to help India Red win the 2016 Women’s Challenger Trophy. She also hit an unbeaten 62 off 82 balls in the match against India Blue. With 192 runs, she became the competition’s top scorer.

As one of the first two Indian players in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), Mandhana signed a one-year contract with Brisbane Heat in September 2016 and partnered with Harmanpreet Kaur. In January 2017, when competing against the Melbourne Renegades, she suffered a knee injury and fell awkwardly while fielding after pitching the game’s final ball. She was eliminated from the remaining rounds of the match, in which she played 12 innings and scored 89 runs.

When Mandhana signed with the league’s defending champions Western Storm in June 2018, he made history by being the first Indian to compete in the Kia Super League. In November 2018, she was added to the Hobart Hurricanes roster for the Women’s Big Bash League season 2018–19.

Southern Brave selected her in the first round of the 2021 edition of The Hundred.  She participated in 7 games for them, appearing in 167 runs, before departing to join India’s tour of Australia.

In order to be ready for the 2021–22 Women’s Big Bash League season, she was added to the Sydney Thunder team in September 2021. She scored 100 points in all, tying the competition record for the highest season score.

In February 2022, she was hired by Southern Brave to compete in the Hundred’s 2022 round.

In the first WPL auction in February 2023, Royal Challengers Bangalore paid 3.4 crores to acquire her. In that auction, it was a player’s highest bid. She was chosen as the team’s captain as well.

Mithali Dorai Raj

Mithali Dorai Raj is an Indian cricketer who served as the team’s captain from 2004 to 2022. (born 3 December 1982).  In women’s international cricket, Mithali, one of the greatest female cricketers ever, has scored the most runs. Mithali has won numerous national and international honors, including the Padma Shri in 2015, the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna in 2021, the Wisden Top the Arjuna Award in 2003, and the best female cricketer in the world in 2017.

When it comes to international cricket, Mithali has many records. She is the only female cricketer in Women’s One Day International matches to have scored more than 7,000 runs.

In ODI history, she is the only player to ever score seven straight 50s. She also holds the record for the most half-centuries in WODI competitions.

Mithali was named the group’s official captain in 2005. In both 2005 and 2017, she was the only female player to captain India in the ICC ODI World Cup finals.

Mithali became the first female player to appear in 200 ODIs on February 1, 2019, during India’s series against New Zealand Women. She made the decision to stop playing T20 Internationals in September 2019 to concentrate on ODI cricket. She completed 20 years of international cricket in 2019, making history as the first female to do so.

Mithali became the player with the most runs in women’s international cricket in July 2021, surpassing Charlotte Edwards’ previous mark of 10,273 runs.

Mithali confirmed her departure from all forms of international cricket on June 8, 2022.

Mithali holds the highest score by an opener for the Indian team with an undefeated knock of 97. India and Malaysia faced off in the Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup, which was played in Kuala Lumpur. 13 boundaries and one maximum were part of the former captain’s 69-ball masterpiece inning, which was also his fastest ever. When the hosts were bowled out for just 27 runs, India went on to destroy the opposition.
