He achieved the feat by throwing 89.08 meters; Peters was injured at home and was unable to compete in Lausanne. Neeraj’s historic victory in the Diamond League, which he achieved with a throw of 88.14 meters, also ensured his place in the Zurich Grand Final.
At the CWG 2022, Indian weightlifters have great success.
The 28-year-old weightlifter competed in just two major events during the season, and her objectives were to take home the higher prizes while working to improve her snatch deficit.
Mirabai Chanu, the Tokyo silver medallist who came to Birmingham as a clear favorite, broke the previous Commonwealth Games record by lifting 201 kg (snatch: 88 kg + clean and jerk: 113 kg) and took home the gold.

Nikhat Zareen: A rising star
The 26-year-old Nizamabad native became the fifth Indian woman to win the gold medal at the World Championships. The same form was used by Nikhat Zareen in Birmingham in 2022, where she won her first medal at the Commonwealth Games and cemented her place in the boxing world.

Asian Wrestling Championships 2022 gold medalist was Indian wrestler Ravi Dahiya (57 kg). Silver medalists were Gourav Baliyan (79 kg) and Bajrang Punia (65 kg).

That all changed this year when Sen won his maiden BWF title at the Indian Open in March and proceeded to reach a second final by defeating Olympic Champion Immediately after, Viktor Axelsen competed in the German Open.
Lakshya Sen defeated Malaysia’s Tze Young NG to win the men’s singles gold medal at the CWG in Birmingham, 19-21, 21-9, 21-16.

Avinash Sable pursues glory
Avinash Sable’s captivating run, in which he repeatedly broke national records to finish in under eight minutes and win Olympic gold, has brought the 3000m steeplechase to the attention of the sports-loving nation at a time when the competition has been struggling for popularity.
