Callum Ferguson is another man who has been active in the BBL since the beginning of his T20 career. Ferguson has been a reliable performer for all of his sides in the Big Bash since 2011, despite his struggles to establish himself on the international stage. His BBL career began with the Adelaide Strikers, followed by stops with the Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunder. He continues to be among the most reliable players in BBL cricket, scoring 1935 runs at an outstanding average of 26.50.
8. Michael Klinger: Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers Total BBL Runs: 1947
Few players accepted the shift as calmly as Michael Klinger did, even though the BBL began to play in Australia after his career. His average of 30.42 compares favorably to most of the top cricketers to have played in the BBL thanks to his nearly 2000 BBL runs in just 71 games. With his efforts, he earned a spot in the 36-year-old Australian T20 team. He was a driving force in the Perth Scorchers’ 2006 BBL championship win. 2019 saw Klinger take on the role of head coach of the Melbourne Renegades in the BBL, where he will work to develop the country’s upcoming T20 cricket stars.

Jonathan Wells made his BBL debut for his hometown Hobert Hurricanes in 2012, and he has since become an important player in the Big Bash cricket league. In his 84 games, Wells has consistently attempted to outperform the opposition. He was a member of the Hurricanes side that lost to the Perth Scorchers in the BBL 03 championship game. Wells guides the Adelaide Strikers to win in the BBL 07, defeating their former employers in the championship game. He is still an important player for the Strikers squad today, batting an average of 34.21.
6. D’Arcy Short, HOBART HURRICANES Total BBL Runs: 2109.
Few men are more sought-after than D’Arcy Short among the generation of players who play T20 cricket while traveling the world thanks to franchise cricket. He has played 57 Big Bash League matches, yet amazingly, he has amassed 2109 BBL runs, giving him an astonishing career average of 40.55. Short, who has two BBL hundreds and 18 BBL half-centuries, has established himself as one of the top T20 players in Australia (and beyond), and as a result, he plays a significant role in the Australian national T20 team.
5. Marcus Stoinis, Melbourne Stars, and Perth Scorchers
2137 total BBL runs
Given that Marcus Stoinis holds the record for the highest individual score in BBL cricket history, his standing at the top of this table may not come as a surprise. Stoinis only has one BBL century, a spectacular 147* against the Sydney Sixers in 2020, but with 14 half-centuries and a stellar average of 36.84, he still makes a significant contribution to whichever team he plays for. He is a crucial component of the Melbourne Stars’ machinery and is notorious for his ball-handling skills as well.
4. Shaun Marsh, MELBOURNE RENEGADES & PERTH SCORCHERS
2196 total BBL runs
Shaun Marsh’s international career hasn’t always gone as planned, but his domestic cricket exploits have always been outstanding, and he remains one of the BBL’s top draws. With 20 half-centuries and 2196 runs scored in just 61 games, he has an incredible BBL average of 41.43. He remains a key player for the Perth Scorchers and was a member of the squad that lost to the Sydney Sixers in the BBL 10 championship game in 2021.
3. Glenn Maxwell, MELBOURNE STARS & RENEGADES
2205 total BBL runs
Many players can’t pull off switching sides in Melbourne, but Glenn Maxwell has done it and lived to tell the tale. There is a constant sense of unhappiness with Maxwell since he is one of the most talented players to have ever represented Australia, but his BBL record is excellent. He has scored 2205 runs in 87 games with an average of 32.42, and he continues to be the Melbourne Stars’ talisman as they attempt to end their BBL winless streak.

2. Aaron Finch, Melinda Renegades
2431 total BBL runs
Aaron Finch has been a talisman for Australia in ODI and T20 cricket for the better part of a decade, and his BBL record is equally excellent. He is one of only a handful of players to have scored two BBL centuries, and his 2431 runs have been scored at an average of 34.23. Finch, who helped the Renegades win the Big Bash Trophy in BBL 08, will try to motivate his team once more in BBL 11 after finishing at the bottom of the standings in BBL 10.
